The Willow Group : Ottawa, ON web design company

The Willow Group was founded by Kathy Jones in August 1988. The name of the firm was inspired by a friend who was on the phone with Kathy and had to interrupt the conversation to discipline her Golden Retriever – Willow. Kathy repeated the word Willow several times, it rolled off the tongue nicely, and hence the company was named. Though Kathy, a single mother, was the sole Willow employee at the time of establishment, Group was added to the firm’s name to portray “strength in numbers”. And today, Group certainly holds true. The Willow Group has progressed from the basement of Kathy’s home to an office building and employs 10 people. It’s been an interesting ride!
